Caves Beachside, NSW North Coast Australia
HBO+EMTB has designed a variety of residential accommodation at Caves Beachside, an oceanfront development on the coast of New South Wales.
Our design approach embraces a strong environmental response to sustainability, landscape and built form. The scheme explores built forms with a light foundation and an open articulated character enhanced by fragmented broken roof planes.
Materials have been selected for longevity, low maintenance characteristics with minimal finishes. Soft sails and rigging masts covering indoor/outdoor area – internal courts with access to crisp light filled bathrooms, well designed functional kitchens – generous space standards in themed, open, flexible plans with service pods.
The complex interaction of land, water, wind and solar is integrated into the design solution, delivering a built form that is both responsive to the unique site and provides a sustainable, quality environment.
