HBO+EMTB worked closely with the St Hilliers Group to secure the design and construct contract for 40,000sqm of 12metre high warehouse space. Our role involved initial feasibility studies, design, documentation, and contract review.

The design of Nestle's facility consolidates several existing warehouses into a single, centralised and efficient operation. It incorporates 3km of skylights; 2,700sqm of awning (cantilevered at 18m); 650sqm of office space; 4,800sqm of chilled storage space for perishables; and extensive truck marshalling areas and dock facilities both at grade and sunken.

At the time of construction, it was the largest structure of its type in the Southern Hemisphere and received the 1998 MBA Excellence in Construction Merit Award. "
