Wolgan Valley Homestead, Australia
Emirates Resorts is developing the six-star, environmentally sympathetic Wolgan Valley Luxury Resort and Spa in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.
Emirates Resorts Australia commissioned HBO+EMTB to complete a Conservation Management Plan, measured drawings and conservation work for the Wolgan Valley Homestead complex, located on the resort site.
The Wolgan Valley Homestead complex has existed since the 1830’s, and currently serves to present a completely intact outstation comprising a homestead, outbuildings, orchard and remnant kitchen gardens.
The homestead complex has historic significance at a local level and is a rare surviving example in NSW of hardwood slab construction. It is representative of diversification in farm management and use associated with pastoral and agricultural activity.
