HBO+EMTB was reappointed as Fidelity Investments' principal design consultant for the 40,000sqft Consolidation project at One Island East, the first building accredited with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Commercial Interiors (LEED CI) in Hong Kong.
Demand for a healthy workplace was a significant project driver. The layout considers the psychological and physical aspects of the new environment and users. Environmentally responsible finishes such as recycled timber and green-rated carpets are used, further reinforcing Fidelity Investment’s requirement for a healthy workplace.
A modular approach to equipment room and private office sizes allows greater flexibility and accommodates future growth. Central to the design is a screening element resembling tree branches and representing growth, symbolic of Fidelity Investments’ business vitality.
