Standard Chartered Bank, Hong Kong

HBO+EMTB provided interior design services for Standard Chartered Bank’s Middle East and North Africa division at IFC Two. The 3,200sqft fitout includes client facing area and staff breakouts on level 12 and 15. The client’s intention was to create a space that incorporates African and Middle Eastern design references to reflect SCB’s business nature and their progressive development in these markets.

The design concept for the client-facing floor on level 15 draws on SCB’s colour palette, incorporating Sub-Saharan Africa’s variegated pattern and décor to create cultural environments conducive to client interaction. Central to the layout is the Meeting Cube, comprising of four 10 pax meeting rooms which can be opened up into a large venue for client functions. This strategic planning provided structural segregation to the perimeter, dividing four sides into zones including client arrival, causal meeting, breakout and quiet areas.

Level 12 is defined by the Middle Eastern theme with predominately neutral finishes and Islamic design elements in the meeting rooms.  A vibrant staff breakout adds a relaxed environment.
