Ashmore Precinct, City of Sydney Australia
HBO+EMTB completed an urban and landscape design study for the Erskineville, Alexandria (West) and
Newtown (South) areas of Sydney. The project involved detailed lot by lot analysis of building height and
density, as well as recording information about building typologies,
streetscapes and architectural character.
The study comprises desired future character strategies for different
neighbourhoods, a structure plan for the areas, LEP and DCP controls, and built form guidelines, all of which will be integrated into a comprehensive suite of planning documents for the City of Sydney LGA.
As part of the study, HBO+EMTB provided ways in which to incorporate Water Sensitive
Urban Design, traffic control and pedestrian connections within a defined green space corridor in the Ashmore Precinct of the study area. These principles will form part of the basis for future controls.
