Kogarah Development Control Documents, Sydney Australia

HBO+EMTB was commissioned by Kogarah Council to develop material for three Development Control Plans for commercial / industrial localities across the Council area. The project involved areas within the Kogarah Town Centre, at South Hurstville, and 19 other localities ranging in size from 1-2 neighbourhood shops to large footprint commercial hubs. Project outputs included place-specific guidelines and controls, with particular regard to the desired future character of each place. A key aim was to guide the revitalisation of neighbourhood centres by creating the framework for appropriate future development. Central to our approach was to develop a hierarchy of centres and embed that structure in the principles and objectives in the Control Documents.
