ASIC appointed HBO+EMTB to provide interior design services for the fitout of ASIC sites in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart and Perth.

The senior design team worked closely with ASIC to understand the requirements of both management and end-users in each location. This has ensured a functional and efficient interpretation of the existing ASIC design guidelines.

In Sydney, the main driver for the project was to open up the space, creating a less segmented workplace. A spine through the centre of the building holds all built zones, ensuring that the open areas have plentiful access to natural light.

Opening up the stairway atria on both east and west sides of levels 6-10 has facilitated movement between floors. At each level, the area surrounding the entry point to the stairs has become a hub - breakout and utility areas located there create an energy zone, with activity radiating out towards the rest of the floor. These zones become the social hubs of the workplace by creating opportunity for communication and informal meetings between staff.

Throughout the fitout, the design language of openness, transparency and collaboration reinforces ASIC corporate culture.
