Glebe & Forest Lodge Urban Design Study, Sydney Australia

HBO+EMTB has recently undertaken involving a comprehensive review of the urban form and character of the Glebe & Forest Lodge area, for the City of Sydney. The project involved detailed lot by lot analysis of building height and density, as well as recording information about building typologies, streetscapes and architectural character. Place-specific guidelines and controls have particular regard to the desired future character of the areas and their precincts. The urban design study comprises precinct strategies, a structure plan that provides a framework for future development, recommended LEP and DCP controls, and built form guidelines, all of which will be integrated into a comprehensive suite of planning documents for the City of Sydney LGA. A key aim is to assist with the identification and strengthening of neighbourhood centres in keeping with the City of Villages policy, by creating the framework for appropriate future development.
