Tranzrail Lands, New Zealand
Toll Holdings commissioned HBO+EMTB to explore scenarios for possible future land uses and distribution within lands at Wellington and Picton, historically used for railway marshalling yards and the InterIslander Ferry terminals.
The concepts were long term visions for the reconfiguration of these strategic sites, with some potential for staged development explored. The sites were visited, analysed, research undertaken into the demographic and growth scenarios for each place, existing facilities, perceived gaps in services an d/ or infrastructure, and appropriate precedents presented.
The project outcomes included a series of plans and 3D modelling of the proposed urban structures and building envelopes.
