HBO+EMTB assisted Deloitte in achieving a national accommodation solution. The commission included planning and design of tenancies in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane.
Deloitte established an Executive Committee to give a dedicated business focus to the process and a clear decision making conduit. Together, HBO+EMTB and Deloitte developed the Deloitte Workplace Vision which has been the backbone of the national accommodation strategy.
This Vision gave clear guidelines to the project and the implementation of the strategy into each state office and gives clear descriptions of Deloitte’s expectations for their new fitout including:
_Open plan concept
_Employee well being and empowerment in the physical environment
_Environment to support and challenge the business
_Spaces to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration
_Seamless home and client based work locations
_Showcase Deloitte capability and skills
_Layout and design to facilitate link between Deloitte and their clients
_Flexibility principles requiring minimal reconfiguration in future.
The initial commission involved the redesign of one level of their Grosvenor Place premises in Sydney. On completion, this provided valuable insight into how end users responded to the new design and layout components, allowing refinement of the overall accommodation solution.
The kit of parts established in Sydney was subsequently implemented across Australia with only minor adjustment to cater for each building shape. The kit of parts encompasses workstation and storage components, and built areas occupied by offices, meeting or breakout spaces in varying furniture configurations.
HBO+EMTB's initial workshops with both staff and Partners ensured the design supports and enhances Deloitte’s culture of encouraging collaboration and internal communication.
